CASE/RICS Christmas Social


CASE and the Cayman chapter of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors are putting on a joint Christmas Social for our collective members. The Christmas Social will take place on December 12th 2013 at Karoo, Camana Bay and will start from 5:00 pm onwards. The associations will cover the cost of nibbles and members wanting some liquid Christmas cheer are welcome to purchase their choice of libation.

Feedback Request on National Conservation Law

For your information the (draft) National Conservation Bill for November 2013 has now been tabled in the Legislative Assembly by the Minister for Environment the Honourable Wayne Panton for public and legislative consideration.

CASE, along with other professional organizations on the island, has been asked to have its members review the law and provide feedback, so please download and review the law and submit your feedback, preferably by Friday November 29th 2013 to CASEcouncil@ymail.com. CASE council will consolidate your responses and issue a collective response on your behalf.

You can also submit any comments you may have individually.

Presentation on National Conservation Law

The Department of Environment have agreed to facilitate a presentation on the new National Conservation Law to CASE and CCA members this Thursday the 21st of November 2013 at 12:00pm -1:30pm, (including a question and answer session) in the AL Thompson’s conference room on the mezzanine level. Please take the lift upstairs. The presentation will be facilitated by the Director of the Department of Environment; Mrs Gina Petrie-Ebanks, so this is a wonderful opportunity to ask any questions you may have about how the law may affect you as a private individual or for future development projects. All interested persons are welcome to attend.

CASE/CCA 2009 International Code Training Seminar



The Society of Cayman Architects, Surveyors and Engineers (CASE) in partnership with the Cayman Contractors Association (CCA) are delighted to offer specialist 2009 International Code training to their members and other contruction industry practitioners on November 12th, 13th, 14th 2013 from 6:00 -9:00 pm and November 16th 2013 from 9:00 am to 12 noon. All sessions will take place in the Cascade Room at the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) as follows:

Mrs. Jacqueline Bleicher (CASE), Mr. Heber Arch (CCA), Mr. John England (Trainer) got the opportunity to promote the above on Radio Cayman's Talk Today show hosted by Mr. Sterling Dwayne Ebanks.

The CASE and CCA November 2013, International Code training sessions are the last opportunity for design and construction professionals to learn about the Cayman Amendments to the 2009 International Codes prior to their adoption. The cost per day to attend each session is CI$50.00 per person. This includes: educational materials, light refreshments and continuing professional development certificates.

CASE members are substantially subsidized at 50%.
